This website has been a bit quiet of late, sorry about that...

It's a turbulent time in UK politics.

The Conservatives can't decide if they want a right-wing leader, or and extreme right-wing leader.

Labour can't decide if they're Blairites, red tories, blue Labour or socialists.

UKIP are just their usual unpleasant selves.

It's time now to get off your .... sofa and do something to make the UK the place you want it to be.

Remember, Green Friends, it wasn't Europe that imposed the bedroom tax on Britain.
It isn't Europe that is still planning tax credit cuts.
And because we're not in the euro, unlike in Greece, it isn't Europe that's tying us into the straightjacket of austerity, it's the british government.
It isn't Europe that's cutting NHS funding and creating bed shortages and making it difficult to get a doctor's appointment.

Walsall will face more cuts as pipeline EU funding dries up and as EU initiatives for young people disappear; there are 250,000 jobs in the Midlands linked to trade with the EU and they're in jeopardy; Walsall College was one of 6 Black Country colleges which shared £5 million in European Social Fund money to provide skills and training for employers and employees in small businesses; - that won't happen again so we need to fight for a replacement; about £152m of locally- allocated EU structural and investment funds are now at risk so we need to fight for that to be replaced from another source.

The Green Party has been campaigning to change our relationship with Europe and the EU throughout.
As a country we've decided to leave the EU so that gives us an ideal opportunity to shape our future relationships with Europe, the EU and the rest of the world.

We'd like to start nearer home; Walsall is a tough place to live and it's been tossed back and forth between Labour and the Tories for years now; neither of them has made much of a difference - our schools are still failing our kids, services for older people are poor and getting worse, help and support for people with mental health issues is being cut and our bin collection service is changing yet agian!

We can still be part of Europe, if not part of the EU, but we've got a lot of work to do at home if we're going to make the 'leave' campaigners keep all the extravagant promises they made during the campaign and make sure Walsall gets a share of whatever funding becomes available.
We've got a bit of a fight on our hands then, so we'd better get moving and get organised...

We'd like you to join us and help make Walsall, the West Midlands and the UK (or England) a better place to live.
