Walsall Green Party broke two records before polling day even arrived, in that we had candidates for all three General Election constituencies.  And 14 candidates across a possible 20 council Local Election seats.  

Following the count at the close of polling day, it became very clear as we were walking laps around the counting hall, monitoring the official process.  That one of our General election candidates was on track to beat the Liberal Democrats in the Walsall South Westminster seat.  Which was indeed the case for Charlotte (Charlie) Fletcher, who not only finished ahead of them but with one of the biggest Green Party margins - you can read more about in the West Midlands Green Party news article here.
